Belonging to 1659 Heavy
Conversion Unit RAF, crashed on 15th January 1945 while undertaking a series
of circuits and landings at Topcliffe Airfield.
During one take off this aircraft lost an engine and crashed into
woods near the village of Felixkirk.

North American F86 Sabre XD733
Belonging to No 92 Squadron RAF, crashed on 21st September
1954 while undertaking a high altitude night time cross country exercise
out of RAF Linton on Ouze.

Belonging to No 10 Squadron RAF, crashed on 5th May 1943 while returning
to it's base at Melbourne Airfield from a bombing operation to Dortmund.
The Halifax was diverted to RAF Leeming because of poor weather and
collided with Hood Hill while flying in fog.

Belonging to No54 Operational Training Unit, crashed on 8th November 1946
after entering thick cloud while undertaking a daylight training flight
out of RAF Leeming. It is suspected the Pilot lost control due to icing on
the wings and control surfaces.

Belonging to No54 Operational Training Unit,crashed on 18th July 1941
while taking part in a Searchlight Homing exercise out of RAF Church
Fenton. This Blenheim and at least one other (L1449) from the same
unit were vectored over the North York moors in error by a ground
based controller. While circling looking for searchlight beams that
were actually somewhere else entirely they both crashed on the moors
just 5 minutes apart.

Avro Lancaster KB701

Belonging to No 419 Squadron RAF, crashed in the early hours of 16th
May 1944 while taking part in a night time cross country
exercise.Because of poor visibilty and winds the aircraft drifted off
course and the crew believing they were much further west over low
ground descended to try and get below the cloud base causing the
Lancaster to collide with Helmsley Moor.
