Gloster Meteor WD714/WD772 .
This image is to illustrate the type only and is not the actual aircraft involved.
Belonging to No 228 OCU RAF, WD772 and WD714 crashed on the 19th of August 1952 while practicing Nighttime Interception. The two Meteors were engaged in 'Head on' contacts at 17,500ft. On the 4th practice run they collided and went out of control before crashing. The crew of WD714 bailed out succesfully but the crew of WD772 were less fortunate. I believe it is not known which of the two Meteors crashed on Collier Law.
