Assigned to BAD2 USAAF, crashed on 23rd July 1945 while ferrying aircrew back to the United States. On the first leg of it's route flying from RAF Valley to Meeks Field on Iceland it suffered an engine fire while flying over the southern end of Skye. The engine fire caused the wing to seperate and the falling wing took the tail off the aircraft which then dove into the hillside above Tarskavaig.
